The second event, of the three event inaugural season, of
the Atlantic Woodsball League (AWL) was played at Mersey Road
Paintball on September 15th. The Tippinators improved their
season record to 4-0-0 after hard fought battles with the Milsim Maniacs
and Mersey Mercenaries. The Tippinators are very fortunate to
have been able to extend their record against two very
skilled teams comprised of the best woodsball players in the
region while playing back to back games to start the day.
The
heavy rain forecasted for the day, held off until the horn sounded
ending the final game. The threatening skies and intermittent
showers did not dampen the spirits of the teams as they
resumed their battle for Atlantic woodsball domination which
started on August 25th. Now that the first event jitters were
over, all teams now focused solely on playing hard core woodsball as was
evident with the increased tempo and nonstop field wide
action throughout the second event.
Austin 'Juno'
Flaherty of the Tippinators commented, "The level of
competition really jumped up for this event. It was a hard fight
all day and some of the most exciting woodsball I have ever played."
Flaherty continued, "The 'Eliminations For' every team nearly
doubled today which goes to show how hot the action was all
day long."
Scott 'Hired Gun' Knowles was impressed with
his team mates, "We are very happy to have won both our
games. The guys really came together out there today against
some stiff competition." Knowles concluded "I can't wait for the final
event next month".
After two events the league
standings are close, and any team can win the Atlantic
Woodsball League Championship, but more importantly bragging
rights for 2007. The inaugural season of the AWL has been a huge
success with all the teams are chomping at the bit, and ready to
play, the final event which will be held at Overkill Sportz on
Saturday October 6th.
Steven Fong, like the rest of
the Tippinators is excited about the season finale, "We're
all excited for the next AWL. We've been training hard, and
playing harder. We're up against some fierce competition, every game has
been that much more intense and fun!"
